Abstract

Traditional medicine is now widely favored and used as an alternative treatment in improving the health status of families and communities. The use of traditional medicine has long been practiced before there were formal health services using modern medicines. The utilization of medicinal plants around us needs to be maximized, among others, by preparing simple and easy-to-do herbal concoctions for the community so far, which is a decoction or brew which in pharmaceutical terms is infusa. This community service activity aims to increase knowledge and skills in making infusa preparations from traditional medicines for PKK mothers and health cadres in Puso Jaya village, South Konawe district, in order to improve family and community health status through the utilization of family medicinal plants. This activity was carried out by counseling lecture method using Power Point media, providing brochures/leaflets. The results of this activity were able to increase the knowledge and skills of PKK mothers and health cadres and the Puso Jaya village community, regarding how to make medicinal plant infusions properly and correctly, which can be applied independently in improving family and community health status.
