FORMULASI BODY SCRUB SARI UBI JALAR UNGU (Ipomoe batatas L.) VARIETAS AYAMURASAKI

Abstract

 Body scrub merupakan sediaan kosmetik yang digunakan untuk perawatan kulit. Salah satu bahan alam yang dapat dijadikan bahan baku body scrub adalah ubi jalar ungu. Ubi jalar ungu mengandung vitamin C, E, A, karoten asam-asam fenol, polifenol dan flavonoid yang baik untuk kulit (Rohdiana, 2001; Sunarni, 2005). Selain itu,kandungan polisakarida ubi jalar ungu berpotensi sebagai antiosikdan alami (Wu et al, 2015). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasi sari ubi jalar ungu (Ipomoea batatas L.) varietas ayamurasaki pada konsentrasi formula A 40%, formula B 45%, dan formula C 50%. Jenis penelitian adalah eksperimen. Pengujian sediaan meliputi uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji organoleptik, uji iritasi, dan uji tipe emulsi. Sari diperoleh dengan cara sampel diparut hingga halus, setelah halus diperas menggunakan kain flanel sehingga diperoleh sari ubi jalar ungu. Hasil penelitian  menunjukkan sediaan yang dibuat memenuhi evaluasi fisik sediaan yaitu tekstur semipadat, bau khas, warna cokelat,  homogen, tipe emulsi minyak dalam air, pH berkisar antara 6,1-6,2 , dan tidak mengiritasi. Sediaan body scrub yang baik digunakan ialah formula B 45%.

Abstract

Body scrub is cosmetic preparation used for skin care. One of the natural ingredients that can be used as raw material body scrub is purple sweet potato. Purple sweet potato contains vitamins C, E, A, carotene acids, phenols, polyphenols, and flavonoids are good for the skin. Others,polysaccharides from purple sweet potato are potential natural antioxidant.This study aims to formulate juice of purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) varieties Ayamurasaki that formula A of 40%, formula B of 45% B, and  formula C of 50%. This type of research is experimental. Testing includes homogenity test , pH test, organoleptic test, irritation test, and emulsion type test. Juice obtained by sampling grated until smooth, after that squeezed flannel cloth to obtain pollen purple sweet potato. The results showed preparations are designed to meet the physical evaluation semisolid dosage in the texture, a distinctive smell, color brown, homogeneous, oil in water emulsion type, pH ranges from 6.1 to 6.2, and does not irritate. The good body scub used is 45% of formula B.
