UJI EFEK ESKTRAK HERBA MENIRAN (Premna corymbosa R. & W) TERHADAP PENURUNAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL DARAH MENCIT (Mus musculus)
Abstract

ABSTRACT
Meniran (Pemna corymbosa R. & W) is a wild plant, as most people have used it as traditional medicine, but it is not yet scientifically known about the content and efficacy of these plants. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out research to determine the effect of meniran ethanol extract on decreasing total cholesterol levels in mice test animals. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ethanol extract of meniran herbs (Pemna corymbosa R. & W) on the reduction of total blood cholesterol levels in mice (Mus musculus), to measure total cholesterol levels in mice after administration of meniran herbal extracts and to measure total cholesterol levels in mice after administration of anti-cholesterol drugs as a comparison or positive control. This type of research is an experimental study consisting of 5 treatments with three repetitions. The study was conducted by measuring the initial blood cholesterol levels of mice, cholesterol levels after food induction of high-fat diet (MDTL) for 9 days and a decrease in total cholesterol levels after oral administration of herbal ethanol extract meniran for 4 days. The results of the study decreased the average cholesterol level at a concentration of 5%, namely 52.00 mg / dL, a concentration of 10% namely 28.33 mg / dL, and 15%, namely 42.33 mg / dL, suspension simvastatin as a comparison, 97, 33 and Na CMC suspension as a control ie 4.67 mg / dL. The treatment shows significant difference with the others based on the 5% BNT test.
